Friends Forever

A dog is the only being on this earth that loves you more than he loves himself.
Henry Wheeler Shaw

I am one of the luckiest dogs on earth.  I am so blessed with many friends.  Of course, my best friend is my Mom.  She loves me more than anyone.  We've had so many wonderful adventures together and lots of hugs and laughs.

Have I introduced you to another good friend, Mark Alonso?  You'll see us driving around the streets of Anna Maria in our three-wheeler wearing matching scarves.  We often stop to chat with neighbors and visitors.

Actually, I like having my picture taken with all our friends.  Here I am with Marge and Marty, and Marge's grandchildren.
Here I am with Gary, who works for the City of Anna Maria.  He stops by every day and gives me a biscuit, or two!  I give him a great big kiss in return!
Alice and Vera, our visitors from Sweden!
I even love attending closings in our office at An Island Place Realty. Fran Jones, Mom's title agent, loves to have me come to closings!  I've even been to her office in town!
But, most of all, I love spending time with my Mom.
She calls me her lap dog!

Water, Water Everywhere

My Mom and I in Bimini Bay.
Being an island dog, I have many opportunities to swim, boat, and play for hours in the water.  Recently, Mom and I spent a day cooling off at a little beach past Galati's Yacht Marina. We were in Bimini Bay on the northeast side of Anna Maria. When I'm not doing the doggy paddle, I'm checking out the yachts.  I'm planning to own one someday soon!

My best friend, Mark Alonso, wading in the water with me.
My Mom and I enjoy swimming and boating with our friends on hot summer days. Here I am with Mark!
I'm in the lead!
I'm a very strong swimmer and can stay afloat for long periods of time. Sometimes, I hang on to a float in case I have to rescue someone!
I like to play catch, too.  Anna Maria has the most beautiful water.
When we're not playing catch in the Bay, there's always the swimming pool. Although, I find it more challenging catching those rubber duckies!
I like boating almost as much as swimming. The cool breezes of the Gulf and the fresh salt air......there's nothing like it!
When Mom and I are not working at An Island Place Realty, we're taking advantage of the sun and surf.  We spend a lot of time together.
I'm one lucky dog!

Bow Wow WOW!

Looking good.
Although I have a laid-back "island attitude," I do like to look my best everyday.  Did I mention that I'm known for my extensive collection of neck scarves?  Just a little color, and I'm ready for a day of lounging.
I like to color coordinate.
You see.....scarves can even be wrapped in "other places."  This is the one people love the most and a lot of laughing goes on when I walk around like this!
What was I thinking!
I collect scarves for all occasions.  Sometimes I wear them to the side, around the back or just casually hanging in front.

Check these out:
Where's my Easter candy?
I like the personalized look.

I'm very patriotic.
This is my biker look.  Watch out!
These are just a few of my favorites.  How about you?  Send me a picture of you in your favorite scarf and I'll post it here!

It's a Dog's Life

Welcome to my home.  Anna Maria is a Dog Lovin' island.  As you wander the streets, you'll come upon several of my four-legged friends walking their humans.  Businesses are named after much beloved pets, such as Rudy's and Slim's, both on Gulf Drive. Several businesses leave water bowls out for us and business walls are covered with pictures of beloved tail-wagging friends.

Strolling down Pine Avenue, you'll probably see me, Fritz Carlson.  Usually, I'm lounging in front of An Island Place Realty .  My days are filled with  people-watching while I bask in the sun under palms and gentle Gulf breezes. It truly is a dog's life here on the island.

Sometimes, I participate in parades and town activities, I love boating, and have even been known to ride on golf carts and three-wheeled bikes. (I get the humans to do all the work while I sit back and enjoy!)
I'm considered a sort of "fashionista" on the island.  I have a large collection of scarves which I don depending on my mood.
You'll find that all of Anna Maria Island is pet-friendly.   Many vacation home rentals welcome us as guests.  There are plenty of roads and paths to walk with your human.

Julie and Sally, owners of Rudy's, sell homemade dog biscuits and will actually whip up a delicious, nutritious breakfast for you.  Inside, you'll find a dog paw wall and visitor pet photos including Rudy and their three other rescue dogs. (They serve delicious people food, too!)
So, relax and enjoy Anna Maria Island.  And, please stop by An Island Place Realty to say "hi" when you're on Pine Avenue.  You’ve found the perfect vacation location!
